News of the Day
Movie News
- Bryan Singer says the next X-Men movie will likely tackle the Civil Rights movement or Vietnam. I enjoyed the interaction of the X-Men origin with history in X-Men: First Class, and I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with it.
- Another toy based movie may be making its way into theaters. Robert Zemeckis is in talks to direct Major Matt Mason, a toy astronaut from the 1960s. The film was co-written by Tom Hanks and will likely star him.
TV News
- Okay - not really TV news but Rep. Anthony Weiner is taking a leave of absence to have his head examined...okay, juvenile boy humor out of the way now.
- Did you catch Real Time this week? Bill Maher and Jane Lynch gave dramatic readings of Wiener's tweets to one of his many female followers.
- Jennifer Love Hewitt is evidently out as a possible sub for Mariska Hargitay. Ice-T, however, has re-signed for two more seasons.
- A (very) brief clip of the not-picked-up pilot for David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman. Here's hoping someone leaks the entire pilot to the Internet sometime soon. I was really looking forward to this one despite the odd costume.
